Overview: Upon receiving my Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Arizona, I accepted a position at Nebraska Wesleyan University in August of 1979. My primary teaching responsibilities have included genetics, molecular biology and evolution. I am currently chair of the Natural Sciences Division, and I am director of Howard Hughes Medical Institute Outreach program for high school science teachers from small high schools in Nebraska. My research interests are in evolutionary molecular biology.

Education: Ph.D. Genetics 1979 University of Arizona
M.S. Zoology 1975 Arizona State University
B.S. Zoology 1972 Arizona State University

Research Interests:  I am interested in genetic variation in natural populations of organisms, especially Drosophila and black flies, and the role that such genetic variation plays in the evolution of organisms.

Recent Publications:

Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy virtually every sport invented, even though I am now rather fragile. As well, I like everything to do with the great outdoors, except being in the middle of a tornado.
