The goals of the biology faculty at Nebraska Wesleyan are to teach our students the basic skills and knowledge that will enable them to pursue advanced work in the biological sciences; to nurture in our students an appreciation of the complexity and grandeur of nature; to help our students gain an understanding of the role of evolution as the unifying theme of biology; to engender in our students an understanding of the ethical dimensions of biological knowledge; and, to provide our students an environment that will foster a lifelong participation in the scientific endeavor.
