NWU Biology - Pre-Physcian Program

Pre-Physician Assistant (B.S. Biology)

Pre-professional requirements for admission to University of Nebraska Medical Center:
16 hours in human physiology, human anatomy, and microbiology; immunology is strongly recommended 16 hours in chemistry with lecture/lab, including general or inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry 9 hours in psychology to include abnormal psychology; developmental (life span) psychology is recommended	3 hours of statistics; algebra is strongly recommended 6 hours in writing or English composition; an additional writing or English composition course is strongly recommended electives (to complete the 90 semester hour minimum) undergraduate degree is strongly encouraged GRE - Graduate Record Examination is required
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 is required. Students should choose elective hours from the sciences, social sciences and humanities. Additional Courses in chemistry, biology, mathematics, and psychology beyond the required minimums should also be considered.	Other Physician Assistant schools may have different requirements. The NWU pre-health advisor, academic advisors, and the NWU Career Centers can aid in determining these requirements.
