NWU Biology - Pre-Medicine Program

Pre-Medicine (B.S. Biology)

Pre-professional requirements for admission to University of Nebraska Medical Center:
8-10 hours of general biology or zoology with labs genetics 8-10 hours of general chemistry with labs 8-10 hours of organic chemistry with labs biochemistry 8-10 hours of physics with labs 12-16 hours humanities and/or social science	3 hours of English composition 3 hours of calculus or statistic 90 hour minimum in an accredited liberal art and sciences college is required; completion of an college major and undergraduate degree is strongly recommended MCAT - medical college aptitude test
UNMC states on their website that "In view of the rapidly broadening scope of medicine, courses in molecular biology, immunology and microbiology, though not required, are helpful in preparing for the basic science curriculum of medical school. Interpersonal communications, ethics, and personnel management are also good preparatory courses."	Other Medical schools may have different requirements. The NWU pre-health advisor, academic advisors, and the NWU Career Centers can aid in determining these requirements.
