I created the following web resources for my students in Biology of Plants. The web sites contain images or Flash files (as noted below). All images and Flash files are copyrighted by Dale M. Benham. Mitosis Review
The site contains images and textual description of all stages
of mitosis in plants (Allium) and animals (Ascaris)
Plant Diversity Photo Archive
Bricker's archive of over 120 images of organisms studied in the
lab in BIO 50. Although no interpretive information is included,
the images should be helpful for students when preparing for lab
practicals.
Plant Anatomy Photo Archive
The site contains over 50 images of stems, roots, and leaves of
vascular plants commonly studied in Plant Biology courses. Commonly
high power and low power views of the plant organs are included.
No interpretive information is included.
Plant Anatomy Study- Interactive Version FLASH
Four lessons (Cell Types, Meristems, Plant Organs and Tissues)
are available for study. Textual interpretation is included. The
user will either "mouse-over" words or parts of the image to obtain
interpretive information.
Angiosperm Reproduction Study Aid FLASH
Eleven lessons take the user through angiosperm reproduction in
the lily, including megagametophyte and microgametophyte development.
Additionally a corn kernal is used to study the embryo.
